According to Android Authority, the leading company will introduce a modem device in the Pixel 9 phones to overcome the problems that were observed in previous generations of the smartphone.
A new version of the Samsung Modem 5400 will be available to complete satellite communication on the Google Pixel 9 series of phones, which is part of the Tensor G4 chipset.
It is expected that this chip will also be used in upcoming devices including the next generation Pixel Fold and the 5 Tablet, which will inspire other manufacturers to introduce it to their devices. This feature can be very useful in emergency situations when there are no cell signals.

Connecting to Satellites Via Text Messages on Google Pixel 9
Sources reported that initially, this feature will be provided by T-Mobile, which was established in cooperation with SpaceX, with the possibility of adding other service providers in the future, as the communication link with the satellite will allow sending text messages, but not calling.
Moreover, according to Android Authority, an application dedicated to accessing the satellite, Adaptive Connectivity Services p.2024.08, will allow easy communication with emergency services via a feature called “Emergency SOS.”
A user on the X platform called Nail_Sadykov published the user interface for the satellite calling feature in the Pixel 9 series phones. He explained how the user can link the smartphone to a nearby satellite, very similar to Apple phones, where the user must point the smartphone directly in the direction of the satellite in order to get help.
Some technology experts believe that users should from now on consider the emergency satellite communication feature when purchasing their new phones, noting that this feature already installed on iPhones has helped save some lives.
Although the emergency satellite calling feature is only available for Google Pixel phones at the present time, this does not necessarily mean that the feature will be exclusive to Google devices.
