Unlike previous generations, Generation Z love adventure and travel. Despite their young age and relatively low income, these people are keen to travel regularly, to the point that they have earned the title of “regular travelers around the world”. They do not travel just for fun. Rather, to open up more and more to the world that is widely circulating on social media.
New News - World
Despite the accusations leveled against the people of this generation of a tendency towards extravagance and an inability to take responsibility, when it comes to traveling around the world… it has been observed that these young people are able to arrange their priorities, manage their affairs, and manage their own expenses during their trips to the fullest extent.
Little Money And a Lot of Culture And Fun During Travel
Results of several studies have shown that Generation Zers are more passionate about traveling for adventure and cultural experiences than older generations, and that they increasingly want their travel experiences to be meaningful.
Studies have also indicated that there have been radical changes in perceptions of travel destinations among Generation Z compared to others. The interest is no longer focused on shopping, spending money, and throwing parties.
Rather, their main concern has become discovering cultural and environmental aspects and learning about the history of the peoples and civilizations of the countries they visit, all within the framework of a tight budget and spending plan.
A survey published by Student Beans shows that from 2021 to 2022, Gen Z’s average spending per purchase on clothing decreased by 7%, technology by 6% and food by 12%, while their travel purchases increased by 60%.
The survey also found that they are always willing to look for the cheapest options when traveling, in terms of flights, accommodation, dining plans, etc.
Generation Z Rely on TikTok for Travel Inspiration
In a report on student and youth travel patterns for 2024, prepared by the Student Universe platform, 89% of the 4,000 people surveyed, aged 18 to 25, said they found new travel destinations through TikTok, with about 70% using it.
Among them is the famous application as a tool for planning trips and getting inspiration for travel ideas.
Many of participants confirmed that they prefer to have a new cultural experience and go to see the sights of a distinctive city, as it turned out that the most popular destinations among Generation Z are Italy and Japan, which are cultural places that outperform traditional parties among these young people.
